For all intimate waxing and other sensitive skin areas like underarms or upper lip, I only ever use hot wax.
No strip wax will touch your bikini area when having an intimate wax with me!
I’ve never strip waxed a bikini in my life!
So why hot wax?
Because hot wax is very gentle on the skin, it gives a much more comfortable feeling when removing the hair than the strip wax does and it leaves the skin less irritated.
It is applied with a disposable wooden spatula with the direction of hair growth, allowed a few seconds to set and then removed by hand against the direction of hair growth.
Strip wax. It goes on the skin with a metal spatula in a thin layer with the growth direction of the hair, a white strip is then pressed against it and removed against the direction of the hair growth.
This is the best type of wax to use for body parts like back, chest, legs and arms.
I understand it can feel difficult to grow your hair if you have been shaving or using hair removal creams before, but I promise you that it will be worth it, because you will get best results from your waxing treatment.
So please allow minimum 3 weeks, 4 if you can would be even better before your first wax after a shave.
This will ensure all your hair is long enough to be removed by wax and it will give you a longer hair free result.
You will get about 3 weeks of hair free skin before you will start to see some minimal regrowth on the 4th or 5th week.
The way I explain it to my clients is that waxing is a process.
It can take 3 to 4 waxes, spaced once a month to get your super duper longest lasting results. This happens because your hair naturally grows in 3 different cycles and having your waxing treatment done regularly will train these different stages of hair growth to growing all at the same time.
And that's how you get that smooth and 'clean' feeling to last for weeks.
To begin with, I recommend every 4 weeks, but once you've had it done regularly for a few times, you will notice a slower and sparser regrowth. Then most people come for their waxing every 6 weeks.
Well, ideally arrive on time :), clean and fresh for your appointment! And this will make my job a breeze!
If you are coming from work, that's absolutely fine, just let me know and I'll give you some wet wipes to freshen up before your waxing treatment.
Another thing would be to step away from that razor or shaving creams for minimum 3 weeks before your appointment! You will get better results if you do.
Also gently exfoliate a few days before to remove the dead skin layer and prime that hair.
Your freshly waxed skin will feel comfortable if you bring loose fitting and clean, cotton clothing to wear afterwards.
Try avoid wearing polyester and tight clothing as this will irritate your waxed skin.
It's natural to feel slightly embarrassed at the thought of being bum naked for a stranger. But remember, I'm a professional and this is what I do all day, every day.
So don't stress about it, I've been waxing for so many years, there is nothing that you have down there that I haven't seen before :).
Underwear must come off please :)! This will make your waxing process quicker, more thorough and less messy.
First your skin will be cleansed with a pre waxing cleansing lotion. Then a thin layer of oil goes on to create a barrier between the wax and the skin, this will protect your skin.
Then the wax is applied with a spatula, allowed to set for a few seconds and removed together with the hair. There! Easy peasy.
Oh and a soothing lotion goes on your skin at the very end of your treatment. This will feel so good and soothing... you won't ever want to leave.
You will feel a discomfort for 2 seconds and then it will subside. My technique is quick and confident, which will give you the best and most comfortable waxing experience!
You will NOT have any pain whatsoever when you leave the salon.
About half an hour if you're having one treatment done. If you're adding more areas, it might take a little longer, but not by much.
or the following 1 or 2 days avoid:
- sunbathing or any other heat treatments, like sauna, sun beds, hot baths or steam rooms. Lukewarm water showers are fine.
- going to the gym or doing any other kind of sports.
- swimming in chlorinated pools.
- wearing tight or polyester clothes.
- touching the waxed area excessively.
- spray tans or self tanning lotions.
- wearing deodorants, perfumes or makeup.
- as much as you might want to show off your freshly waxed skin, don't get hot and steamy with your partner (blushing!) as this will irritate your skin.
1 or 2 days before you fly out is best. If this is your first wax, then definitely 2 days before to allow your skin to recover before sunbathing.
Absolutely, babe! My clients wax on their period all the time.
I never double dip the spatula, so the highest level of hygiene is met no matter what.
Congratulations, mumma to be!
Yes, you certainly can get waxed. It is perfectly safe to do so right up to due day.
I get this a lot! It's the most common reason why people were reluctant to have waxing done again.
All my clients that have come to me over the years are now regular clients. And that's mainly thanks to my quick and thorough technique. Not one hair is missed, all of it will come off.
Over the last two decades that I have been waxing, I have developed my own technique that my clients say it makes their waxing experience as painless as possible and, because it is completely thorough, it gives them the longest lasting results.
Yes, there is...
For a Brazilian or a G String Wax it is 18.
For an Eyebrow wax & tint it is 16 with parental consent (parent must be present at the first appointment).
For other body waxing areas it is 16 with parental consent (parent must be present at the first appointment).
I'm afraid not, you can't have a wax if you have STI.
If you have a UTI, it's best to wait until it has cleared.
For insurance purposes we cannot have anyone else in the treatment room; it invalidates our insurance.
As I often have clients booked before and after your appointment, it is important to arrive on time. If you do arrive late and I have a client booked afterwards, I will do my best to do all your treatments booked, but I may not have time to do everything.
